We are very happy with our Nu Sapphire CRC-MC-ICP-MS. The dual-path design has allowed us to nimbly switch between applications with vs. without CRC methods. The software has enabled method development with novel sample introduction systems. Now just two years post-installation, we routinely perform isotopic measurements of several different elements from a wide variety of sample matrices. "

We have been using the Nu TIMS at IPGP since late 2020, as part of an ERC project focused on high-precision 142Nd and 182W isotope measurements. The instrument has genuinely met, and in many respects exceeded, our expectations. We have consistently obtained 142Nd data with a precision rarely achieved on TIMS, and we are well on our way to reaching a similar level for 182W. This has already contributed to two analytical papers and a further paper in Nature. This performance owes much to the capabilities of the instrument itself. Having previously worked with a TIMS from another manufacturer, our impression — though difficult to quantify rigorously — is that the Nu TIMS achieves a notably higher overall ionisation/detection efficiency. This is combined with excellent long-term reproducibility: our operating parameters have remained stable over time, thanks to the fixed-cup configuration and the reliability of the zoom lens system. We have also been very satisfied with Nu Instruments' support, both for resolving technical issues on the instrument and for assistance in developing our analytical methods. One area we feel could still be improved is the software interface, which is not always the most intuitive; in particular, the ability to display signals from several cups simultaneously would be a welcome addition. "

Our experience with Nu Instruments and the Vitesse ICP-TOF-MS has been extremely positive. As early adopters applying this technology to biological imaging, we inevitably encountered challenges associated with developing new methodologies and pushing the boundaries of an emerging field. I've worked on the Astrum for 7 years now. It's a very robust instrument, very rarely breaks down and requires very little in the way of consumables. The service department at Nu are fantastic. Whenever we have any issues we can often have an engineer logged in remotely within the hour and I think the longest we've ever had to wait for an emergency site visit was 48 hours. They also took on board our feedback when developing the Nu CODAQ software so that it better suits our business needs. We couldn't ask for more. "
