Product Details

Thermal Ionisation MS

Incorporating our field-proven Zoom lens multi-collector technology, the Nu TIMS improves the versatility and overall performance of this long established analytical technique. Advanced design of filament assembly, ion optics and electronics control combine with flexible detection capability for ultimate performance whilst maintaining ease of use.

Utilised for the first time on a TIMS instrument, our unique Zoom lens system ensures perfect peak alignment without the requirement of moving detectors.

Creating ultimate measurement stability, linearity and dynamic range, our Daly ion counting detectors can be used for the precise measurement of small samples and low abundance isotopes

Solutions

Ultimate High Precision

Achieve state-of-the-art isotope ratio precision using advanced multi-dynamic measurement techniques developed in collaboration with leading research laboratories. At IPGP, the Nu TIMS platform has demonstrated external reproducibility at the sub ppm level, delivering ~5–6 ppm for Sr and ~4–5 ppm for Nd isotope ratios, with performance exceeding or matching the best published methods.

Solutions

Noise-Limited U–Pb Performance

Push U–Pb geochronology to the noise limit with advanced all-Faraday acquisition strategies. At the Pacific Centre for Isotopic and Geochemical Research (UBC), the Nu TIMS has demonstrated significant gains in precision using 10¹³ Ω Faraday amplifiers and static multi-collection of both Pb and U isotopes.
