Nu Instruments | Quantitative Mineral Water Analysis Using Extended Dynamic Range Detection

Explore how the Attom High Resolution ICP-MS quantifies major, trace and rare earth elements in mineral water samples without requiring sample dilution.

Detector modes for the Attom HR-ICP-MS.

High resolution ICP-MS offers significant advantages for elemental analysis, particularly when samples contain components across a wide concentration range.

This study analysed three Portuguese mineral water samples using the Attom dynamic range detector system. Measurements were performed across multiple resolution settings and compared with quadrupole ICP-MS data.

Results showed strong agreement between the two techniques while enabling analysis across a broad concentration range within a single workflow. The detector system automatically managed varying signal intensities without user intervention.
