The Nu Plasma™ mass spectrometer was designed in collaboration with users to provide the best in performance and reliability. Every aspect of the instrument has been considered in a totally new design. The result has been the production of a double focusing instrument that provides high precision and accurate isotope ratio determination, coupled with flexibility and ease of use.
- Unique Variable Zoom Optics (Patented), greatly simplifying the complexity of the detector array
- Twelve Faraday Detectors of reproducible ceramic and sapphire design, with proven field reliability
- Multiple Ion-Counting System with optional High Abundance Sensitivity Filter
- Two High Resolution Modes, Pseudo and True, both maintaining flat top peaks (eg Fe analysis)
- Utilising a 35cm radius ESA and 25cm radius magnet for 100% ion transmission and minimal peak degradation
- Failsafe Vacuum System, using three turbo pumps and three high vacuum ion pumps on the analyzer
- Multi-tasking Windows based software includes instrument tune-up, full system monitoring, flexible data analysis, and time resolved analysis
- ICP ion source with plasma shield for cool plasma operation
